Youth Reception

The Youth Opening and Reception on August 2nd is one of the events planned and coordinated by the Mexico Youth Force. Since the International AIDS Conference in 2006, it has been the official event welcoming young people to the conference, as a form of recognition of the importance of youth¹s leadership in the global response to HIV and AIDS.

The Youth Opening and Reception celebrates the greater and meaningful involvement of youth within the International AIDS Conference, while at the same time taking notice of the significant impact that HIV and AIDS has on young people's lives.

Through an evening of celebration, key note speakers, and entertainment (with Julieta, Venegas, DJ Baxter and others), the Youth Opening and Reception will set the tone for a positive and youth-friendly 2008 International AIDS Conference.

Youth Adult Commitments

• Alloys Obonyo
  Create good leadership amongst youth in his community
• Thol Men
  Improve the quality of life of people living with HIV, to create leadership in our community, and build the capacity of youth and vulnerable groups.
• Sarah Roush
  CCF commits to supporting at least 4 child and youth leaders (from the 31 African, Asian, North and South American countries where we work) to attend and actively participate in the 2010 International AIDS Conference. Youth will be selected through a participatory process that is youth led and managed.
